Exploring NYC and Teen Vogue Fashion U Express Party

I arrived in New York City armed with a venti Starbucks iced white mocha and two hours of sleep.  But even after flying all night, finally seeing NYC for the first time was exhilarating.    

I rode the subway for the first time!

Calvin Klein blazer.  Cynthia Steffe dress from Marshall's.  Enzo Angiolini heels from Macy's.  Forever 21 necklace.  Calvin Klein glasses.

Teen Vogue Fashion U was kicked off with a party at Express.  The event had a dj, snacks, mocktails, and shopping discounts.

I met Andrew Bevan, the style features director at Teen Vogue.

After the event, I went to the top of the Empire State Building.  It definitely put me in an empire state of mind.

I walked through Times Square on my way back to the hotel.

It's getting a little bit cooler in Southern California but still warm enough for shorts.  Maroon is also one of my favorite colors for fall.  I love this cardigan not only for the color but that its light enough for warm fall days.

In other news, I'm leaving for NYC tonight!  I will be attending Teen Vogue Fashion U this weekend! This will be my first time in New York and I a beyond excited.  I'll be sure to some blog posts about it. Valentino Spring / Summer 2014

Valentino has always been one of my favorite brands.  Tribal has always been one of my favorite trends.  Seeing the two come together is pure perfection.  I like how Valentino kept the classic structured dresses and also added some bohemian shapes to the mix as well.  Which look is your favorite?
